One Egg Fundraiser part two

Last year's One Egg One dream project was a great success. And this year we want to help another entire school for an entire year by providing lunches to the students that need it the most. The government pays for the tuition but the little pupils often have no energy to pay attention in class

Last year, With all the help, we were able to collect more than 20.000 RMB, which will gives over 200 children a chance for better life. Additionally, half of a 2500 USD grant from Edelman awarded to the Rotaract Club of Shanghai will help another 80 students. Furthermore we were able to share our project and our club with several thousand people all of the China through and interview on the tv channel ICS and have raised international awareness when participating in the "new balance Jinqiao 8k" last sunday. Our members Fabian Tiefenbacher and Jason Born are in the interview.

Last year we had great individual sponsors and Corporate sponsors such as the Huaqiao Foundation, Yunio, Avia-Tek and URBN Hotels

DPRK Topple Hunger Campaign 2013

North Korea is seen as both intriguing and threatening. The majority of media attention focuses on its politics, however, behind this theatrical performance lays a population being systemically crippled. The UN estimates 1/3 of children less than five suffer from malnutrition and stunted growth due to food shortages. We therefore aim to supply 21.3 tonne’s of rice & 2.3 tonne’s of soya beans to support the children. We ensure successful delivery and full accountability through a trusted network on the ground alongside a due-diligence visit by ourselves.

Our mission is to deliver one full 20 foot container of rice and soya beans purchased in China to three orphanages currently supported by the Han-Schneider Foundation in North Korea. This project builds on both the successful food aid already sent to the orphanages and previous projects from the Rotaract Club of Shanghai both inside and out of the DPRK. In total, we aim to supply up to 24 tonnes of food which will provide 301,000 meals to 2150 children.

Project Timeline:

1. March 2013: Fundraising

2. May 2013: Start the procurement  of food in China

3. May 2013: Send food to the three orphanages in the DPRK: Oncheon, Hwang-ju & Pyongsung

4. July 2013: Due-Diligence visit to the orphanages to improve relations & ensure accountability
