Commitment: Each volunteer will visit the orphanage every 2-3 months (depending on his/her availabilities) on a Saturday or Sunday and, along with other volunteers, plan an activity for the children. They like to dance, draw, sing, etc. However, you must keep in mind that they do not have the same age or abilities. Not all of them even speak. The simpler the game, the better.

Cost: Each volunteer is responsible for covering the cost of his/her trip to the orphanage.

• Train Ticket: RMB 52 (return)
• Taxi to and from the orphanage: RMB 100 (total) or Bus: RMB 4 (return)

Note

: Taxi is much faster and will only require 20 mins travelling time. Bus is much cheaper but plan one hour each way (requires some walking).

Important: If you signed up for volunteering on a specific date (to be confirmed by project committee one week prior to the trip) and that you cannot go for whatever reason, you are responsible for finding your own replacement. Volunteers do not need to be Rotaract members to participate. THE CHILDREN WILL BE EXPECTING US, WE CANNOT LET THEM DOWN!
